Melissa Quinn started making costumes professionally in 1997, after completing her fashion certificate at the New York Fashion Academy. Her costume shop, Faerie Fingers, opened shortly after, specializing in media recreations from Japanese animation, video games and comic books. Because the popularity of cosplay has grown so much in the last decade, she is writing a costuming manual that will be completed early next year.
