The Council depends on the generous support of individuals, foundations, corporations, and government agencies to serve the people of West Virginia through diverse public programs in the humanities and an open grant program for locally initiated programs.

The West Virginia Humanities Council is a private, nonprofit organization, exempt under section 501 c. (3) of the IRS code. As such, gifts to the Council are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Please consider becoming a partner in the work of the West Virginia Humanities Council. With your support, the Council can continue to engage the people of the Mountain State in the power and pleasure of ideas. Your gift supports community programs in cultural heritage, contemporary issues, reading and literacy, as well as enrichment programs for teachers.

From children in grade schools to adults in senior centers, the Humanities Council's goal is to reach all West Virginians of all ages, and to provide them with rich, enjoyable, and thought-provoking experiences in the humanities.

You will receive Council's monthly Calendar of Events to know when an event is happening in your area.
